Pupil Leadership
At St Margaret's we endeavour to make pupil voice central to the running of the school: giving children responsibility as well as nurturing collaboration, leadership and negotiation. Pupils are championed to take thier skills and involve themselves in pertinent discussions around the direction of the school. in the early years there are opporunities for pupil voice to be a catalyst for learning, guiding and ddirecting the shape that the curriculum takes and as children progress through school, led by children in year six, a supportive and welcoming space is created where all pupils feel they can voice their opinions.
The following pupil leadership groups are in place:
- School Council
- Ethos Committee
- Reading Committee
- Student Stewards
We also have a group of Mini-Mentors as well as a number of Sports Leaders.

School Council
The School Council at St. Margaret's School are a team of organised, dedicated and proud children from Year 6. Members are elected following an application process at the start of the school year. All school councillors wear a distinctive badge so that others are aware of their role.
Reading Committee
Our Reading Committee supports the implementation of the school's Reading intent, focussing on ensuring that every child leaves St Margaret's with an enthusiasm for reading. Our Reading Committee are passionate readers themselves, and promote this love across the school. This year, their focus will continue to be developing this engagement with reading across the school as well as developing the role of the School Library.

Ethos Committee
Our Ethos Committee is made up of children and adults who work together to promote the school values. Our committee meet each half term to discuss the school's Values and Ethos. They offer suggestions for Collective Worship and are great role models. The Ethos Committee share their experiences with the whole school as well as help organise special events. They preserve and develop the Christian character of the school through its vision and values.
Mini Mentors
The Mini Mentors work with our Pastoral Leader to help promote and maintain emotional wellbeing at St Margaret's'.
Eco Team
The Eco Team work together to make St Margaret's (and the world!) a greener place. Our aim is to address environmental issues and promote sustainability by ensuring that all members of the school community reduce waste and lowering energy consumption. We support initiatives that calls for action on the greatest threats facing the human family today – climate change, growing global inequality and the destruction of biodiversity.
